Baltal, Jun 28 (KNO): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday reviewed the final preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra at the Baltal Base Camp, asserting that all necessary arrangements have been put in place through the coordinated efforts of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), the Jammu and Kashmir administration and the Government of India. During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor also launched the Directorate of Rural Sanitation’s ‘Shubham–Shivam’ campaign, aimed at making this year’s pilgrimage sustainable, clean and zero-landfill. Expressing satisfaction over the preparedness, Sinha commended officials, particularly the security agencies, for ensuring comprehensive and foolproof arrangements. “The preparations have been underway for several months through the collective efforts of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, the J&K administration and the Government of India. I appreciate all the officials, especially the security agencies, for making comprehensive and foolproof arrangements. I am confident that this year’s Yatra will be conducted even more smoothly and successfully than last year’s,” the Lieutenant Governor told reporters on the sidelines of the review meeting, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). Sharing details of his visit on X, Sinha said his priority is to ensure that every devotee of Lord Shiva undertakes the sacred pilgrimage in a safe, comfortable and well-organised environment. “Today, I visited the Baltal Base Camp and chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. Along with senior officials, I reviewed the infrastructure, security measures and overall arrangements to ensure that all preparations are complete,” he posted. The Lieutenant Governor said he has directed all stakeholder departments to ensure that every required amenity is in place and that devotees are welcomed into an environment that is safe, comfortable and well-organised. “My priority is that every pilgrim enjoys the spiritual journey and returns with a truly enriching and fulfilling experience,” he said.
